Rates for Directory 2011 Set |

The rates for the Directory 2011 have been set by the committee and have been held as close to last years figures as possible. Given the general increase in overall charges the Committee felt that it needed to raise fees slightly whilst taking into account the still fragile economic climate. Most charges have either remained the same or increased between 1% and 5%. Membership has risen by $4 to $99 - Walpole $55. Now that the fees have been set advertisers both old and new will be contacted in the next few months in preparation for the new directory. Any member that knows of businesses that are currently not advertising but would be interested in joining in the booklet, ask them to contact the Chamber during office hours or leave a message. We would be pleased to get back to them. The Personal Directory is being updated regularly and if anyone knows of errors or people who have left Denmark and remain in the Directory please let us know so we can correct the booklet. We rely on individuals to keep us informed. BUSINESSES Remember if you complete and submit our Economic Development Survey you could get your advertising for FREE. Contact the office now!! |

Economic Development Survey |

The Chamber of Commerce is undertaking an Economic Survey of businesses within the Shire with the intent of ascertaining material to formulate an Economic Strategy for the Shire. You may recall that in 2008 the Chamber was allocated funds from the Denmark Shire to be spent on defining a strategy and this will be the next step in that process. Businesses will be approached by the Survey coordinator and Chamber Manager Denise Legge and asked to complete a survey. The results will then be compiled and assessed. We urge ALL businesses to participate and have their say in the future Economic Development of Denmark. Business owners/managers have the choice of a "face to face" meeting at their workplace or the Chamber, or they can complete a survey form on line. The office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from10am to 4pm. The Chamber staff welcomes your personal queries regarding business. The Denmark Chamber of Commerce is an independent incorporated body administered by a President, Treasurer and Committee members. An Annual General Meeting is held in August and Ordinary General Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. We welcome members at any of our meetings.
