Denmark Night Market

On Friday evening 19th of March 2021, the inaugural night market lit up the centre of Denmark town. As part of the Taste of the Great Southern the market presented local wares, wine, beer, liquor and delicious foods to treat all the foodies in the region.

Children were entertained with face painting by Merry Me and rock colouring from Denmark Art Club and the rest of us enjoyed the cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs, Anna Gare, Ruby Hughes and Melissa Palinkas. A new competition of talented Sausage makers went head to head cooking and sharing their creations with mainly children lining up the stairs of Plain Tree Court for as many samples as they could try!

In our commitment of sustainable events, Plastic Reduction aided in the washing of patrons own plates and the Bin Fairies collected over 6 bins of compost and 1/8 Bin of landfill.

The liquor section, roped off with Country Women’s Association hand made bunting, added to the flair of the market, housing Denmark Heritage Cider Company, Artisan Brewery, Great Southern Distillery and the wineries, Silverstream, Rockcliffe and Rising Star. The food line up included Gin Lao, Hot Donuts, Gloria Dieu, Bar Tarifa, Windrose BnB, Griddle ‘n’ Fry, Charlie Browns House of Indulgence, Bueno Social, Denmark Grass Fed Lamb and Massimo’s Pizza opened their doors.

Retail vendors were Tiny Treasures, Buttah’s Country Kitchen, Southern Apiaries, The Serendipity Gallery, Found Collective and Wildly Weaved.
