Exercise physiology is the use of exercise as a medicine to help prevent illness, manage chronic disease and improve wellness and quality of life.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Freedom Exercise Physiology we believe in being active so you can live your life the way you choose. We aim to help you find ways to keep doing the things you love, to manage any health issues you are experiencing, and to be able to maintain your independence. We understand that not everyone wants to go to the gym or play team sports, but there is an activity out there for everyone that can keep you active, fit and healthy.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer exercise physiology services in the clinic, in your home or in the gym. We can help you to develop an exercise program to do independently or in one of our small group sessions. Freedom Exercise Physiology services may be eligible for Medicare, DVA or private health insurance rebates. We take referrals for clients with MVIT or Worker’s Compensation cases. You can be referred by your GP or we accept self-referrals. We also specialise in Pilates for equestrians.
Freedom Exercise is the new practice of Dr Ruth McConigley, Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Ruth has been a Registered Nurse for more than 25 years, and has spent much of that time specialising in nurse education and research in the areas of cancer and palliative care.
