Word Coach is a small, private tuition business run by experienced teacher and tutor, Jasmine Heslop. Jasmine is a Specialist Accredited Tutor and Australian Tutoring Association Member. The Australian Tutoring Association is the peak tutoring industry body in Australia. The Australian Tutoring Association requires all of its members to abide by a code of conduct which details acceptable standards of practices for tutors in Australia. Jasmine has completed a Bachelor of Education, Master of Applied Linguistics and Graduate Diploma in Languages (Indonesian) and has taught students of many ages and backgrounds, from early childhood, primary, special needs to adult refugees. Jasmine specialises in building confidence in students who need it and provides educational support and remedial tutoring in all subjects.
From preparing for the OLNA or IELTS; to remedial reading for primary students; to ATAR Indonesian – Word Coach provides a wide range of services.
Also, part of the team is Carl Heslop. Carl is an experienced writer and researcher with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing), a Master of Public Health and a submitted PhD. Carl provides expert assistance to older students who need assistance in analysing the question, formulating an answer and structuring an essay. These skills are applicable in all long form essay questions and Carl has assisted students in analysing and answering questions from subjects including English, History, Psychology and Drama. Carl is well versed in communicating with teenagers and works on different motivational, teaching and coaching styles to get the buy-in and engagement required for this age group. Carl can also provide support in Human Biology.
Word Coach operates from professional rooms in Strickland Street, Denmark and provides personalised tuition.
