For a small cruisy coastal town, there are certainly a lot of things going on in Denmark! So much that we decided to create a weekly “What’s on’ blog, so you can find it all in one spot!

The Denmark  Arts office has been a hive of activity this year, providing locals and visitors with a huge and varied events calendar. Tonight you can be a part of ‘Creative Conversations Series’. Nic Hodgson will facilitate a creative conversation about Art and Environment with Liz Edmonds, Pete Usher and  Nikki Green.

Social Ride – Mountain Biking the local trails

Mountain Bike Social Ride around the tracks and trails of Denmark. A route will be chosen on the afternoon that suits the riders who turn up. It is e-bike friendly. Children under 12 are welcome if with a supervising adult and is confident on a mountain bike.  5pm More information….

Family Kayak Safety – Event by Great Southern Centre for Outdoor Recreation Excellence

Poetry in Motion: Eurythmy with Nicole Peterson – Presented by Denmark Arts

A workshop introducing the art of Eurythmy aka Visible Speech. Eurythmy is a movement art which reveals the inner qualities of sounds, be it though speech or music.

It is a performing, pedagogical and therapeutic art born out of the work of Rudolf Steiner.

Jumps in the Park

Every Friday night for the Summer school holidays the Denmark Mountain Bike Club is going to get a little loose.

They are putting the air bag up for a jump session from 5pm at the Pines Reserve on the corner of Horsley Rd and Scottsdale Rd.

Everyone welcome, but to jump you must be a AusCycling/MTBA member or purchase a day license. Free to spectate or $5 to jump. Sausage Sizzle and drinks available to purchase. Let’s have some fun!

Sonia is a well known and loved choral director in the Great Southern. With a decade’s experience leading community choirs, Sonia offers a joyous, non-judgemental leadership of gospel and other songs. Denmark Arts Markets

First established in 1981 the Denmark Arts Markets is a showcase for local and regional craftspeople, artisans and entertainers.

Held four times a year these markets take pride in providing a venue for upcoming and established creators and designers to present their products to the public.

The markets are brimming with handcrafts and innovative creations.  So much to tantalize and delight, not to mention that you can take a break and sit on the lawn overlooking the river while being entertained by a diverse line-up of talented local musicians and performers.

The Denmark Arts Markets are held in the beautiful setting of Berridge Park on the banks of the Koorabup (Denmark) River. Rain, hail or shine, open from 10am – 4pm More information….
