About Us
Our Story
The Denmark Chamber of Commerce was officially incorporated in 1989. A Chamber of Commerce was, and still is, regarded as mechanism that supports efforts to retain as much public and private expenditure in the town by promoting the capacity of local businesses.
To manage its own financial sustainability, the Chamber produces the Denmark Business and Community Directory, which was first printed in 1992. An online business directory has been available since 2019 and the directory on this website is the second iteration of that.
The Chamber's vision and strategy are based on the premise that economic development in Denmark is best served by a growth in the small to medium enterprise sector, and investing in innovative economic development that supports the lifestyle choices of Denmark businesses, and the natural and social environment that attracts people to the town.
In November 2021, the Chamber was awarded a three-year service and lease agreement by the Shire of Denmark to manage visitor servicing and the Visitor Centre.
The Chamber employs four part-time staff and has an active cohort of volunteers who provide visitor servicing through the Visitor Centre
