February Business After Hours

Business After Hours Launches the Year at the Denmark Visitor Centre

The Denmark Chamber of Commerce’s February Business After Hours marked the first Chamber event for the year, bringing together members and non-members at the Denmark Visitor Centre.

The evening welcomed business owners from across Denmark, creating an opportunity to reconnect after the break, meet new people, and hear directly from organisations that support local businesses. Opening the event to the wider business community set the tone for the year ahead: inclusive, practical, and focused on connection.

With catering by Gin Lao and warm summer conditions, many stayed on after the formal proceedings to continue conversations and make new connections.

Business support, made visible

A central focus of the February event was helping business owners better understand what support is available and how to access it.

We were joined by Chris Dunn from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, Mark Shenton from the Albany Business Centre, and Rachael Thomas from the Regional Tech Hub.

Each shared how their organisations support businesses in areas such as workplace relations, compliance, business planning, funding pathways, and digital connectivity. Hearing directly from these organisations and having them in the room allowed business owners to ask questions and make informed connections.

The Chamber was pleased to welcome WA Shadow Minister for Energy and Industrial Relations, The Hon. Dr Steve Thomas, Denmark Shire President, Aaron Wiggins, along with a broad mix of Denmark business owners. Their presence reflected the shared interest in building a strong local economy and supporting those who contribute to it.

New membership tiers and expanded partnerships

The February Business After Hours also marked the launch of the Chamber’s new membership tiers. The updated structure is designed to better meet the needs of local businesses and community organisations, with a stronger focus on access to advice, connection, and capability building. A new community and not-for-profit membership tier was also introduced. The Chamber was also pleased to formally welcome Denmark Women in Business into the Chamber and to announce a new partnership with Raine & Horne Denmark, supported by Julie Hetherington, to help support Denmark Women in Business programs into the future.

Prize winners

Congratulations to our prize winners on the night:

Each received a mix of Chamber merchandise and Denmark Dollars, keeping spending circulating locally.

Looking ahead

The February Business After Hours set the direction for the Chamber’s year ahead, with a focus on open events, stronger partnerships, and practical support for Denmark businesses and community organisations.

The Chamber looks forward to welcoming more local businesses to future events throughout the year.
