At the April Business After Hours event, physiotherapist David Scriven and his dedicated team from Ocean Beach Physio + Allied Health showcased their new purpose-built clinic along with co-hosts Great Southern Development Commission (GSDC).
Originally opened in the heart of Denmark four years ago, the clinic quickly outgrew its original location due to increasing demand for its services. In response, David and Julia Scriven embarked on a search for a larger space. When nothing suitable was available, they successfully applied for a Regional Development Grant (REDs) through GSDC. With the grant funding, they were able to construct a purpose-built clinic, offering ample parking and easy wheelchair access.
The new facility includes five treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym, and a team of skilled professionals, including three physiotherapists, a women’s health physiotherapist, an exercise physiologist, and a visiting orthopaedic surgeon who consults once a month. This expansion has not only created valuable employment opportunities in Denmark but has also alleviated the need for local patients to travel to Albany for treatment.
Eden Shepherd, representing GSDC praised the successful outcome of this REDs grant. GSDC focuses on supporting local businesses and enhancing community wellbeing, and the new clinic is a significant step forward for Denmark.
