October Business After Hours

Denmark Chamber of Commerce members gathered in the workshop at Col’s Mechanics for the October Business After Hours.

Chamber members enjoyed the company of a couple of highly polished vintage cars and a Nissan Patrol project car which still needs plenty of work but already boasts a perfect paint job.

Col started his business in September 2013 after his partner Jane Kelsbie encouraged him to take a giant step and open his own workshop.  Col has now trained three apprentices one, Gus Thomas, is still working for him and another has set up his own workshop in Albany. The third, Josh Collins, completed his pre-apprenticeship before joining Col’s team this year.

Col has developed a great reputation in town and is training to become a vehicle examiner.

Col has a strong spirit of community and is a generous supporter of the Southern Ocean Classic Mile, Parkrun, local snowboarder Harry Edmundson, the Monkey Rock mountain bike group and more.

David Stockdale of Stockdale Building was the lucky winner of the door prize – a free service for his car!
