The Shire of Denmark is located on the South Coast of Western Australia approximately 400kms south of Perth and 50kms west of Albany covering an area of 1,859.9 sq kms, extending 70 kms in an ast-west direction, and 30 kms north-south. The average annual rainfall in the Shire is 1089.6mm annually with an average maximum temperature of 25C in summer and 16C in winter. (Taken from the Bureau of Meteorology website).
The estimated resident population of Denmark (ERP 2018) is 6154. Education and training is the largest employer making up 12.6% of the total employment across the Shire. This is closely followed by accommodation and food services (12.21%) and agriculture, forestry and fishing (11.7%).
The people of Denmark are very much aware of the need to care for our magnificent coastline, great forests and wilderness areas along with other natural attractions which bring so many visitors to this pristine part of Australia and a great deal is done to conserve these areas.
