About Discover Denmark

Your Denmark Local Tourism Organisation

Discover Denmark is a Denmark Chamber of Commerce local tourism initiative. By becoming a member you will have a voice in the growth and development of tourism in our region.

Our Story

Discover Denmark is a Denmark Chamber of Commerce (DCC) local tourism initiative.

DCC is the peak business organisation in Denmark offering business support, advocacy and marketing opportunities to the community for over 30 years. We currently have around 350 members and are recognised throughout the state for our consistency in service of our membership.

We have run a temporary visitor service from the Denmark Visitor Centre since Boxing Day 2020 after the dissolving of the former tourism organisation. In November 2021, DCC was awarded a three year service and lease agreement with the Shire of Denmark to lead the growth and rebranding of tourism and visitor servicing in Denmark.

Currently, both DCC and Discover Denmark are located at the Denmark Visitor Centre at 73 South Coast Highway.

Denmark Visitor Centre

We know that a visitor centre is about far more than simply giving information – it’s about welcoming and ensuring that our visitors, of all ages and needs, receive the best possible service to stay longer, discover more, tell all of their friends and return for years to come. Our aim is to rebuild and revitalise the Denmark Visitor Centre into a vibrant hub of activity that supports visitors and local businesses and community alike. The Visitor Centre is supported mainly by a group of volunteers that offer information to visitors. This type of visitor servicing model helps us to keep the costs of running the service sustainable which will in turn allow us more opportunities to establish meaningful projects and programs that support tourism in Denmark.

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers love local and are dedicated to being the best possible ambassadors for Discover Denmark. We combine their passion with training (including tours of local businesses and customer service training) to ensure visitors receive non-biased, accurate and up-to-date information about Denmark businesses and natural attractions.

We encourage all of our members to volunteer for at least one shift (2.5 hours) per year. It is a perfect way to understand the types of visitors we have coming into the Visitor Centre as well as sharing your local expertise!
