The Bibbulmun Track

The world renowned Bibbulmun Track is one of the longest, continuously marked trails in Australia covering 964 km from Kalamunda,a suburb in the hills on the outskirts of Perth, to the historic town of Albany on the south coast. It passes through the heart of the scenic south west of Western Australia. It is suitable for groups, individual recreational walkers (day or weekend walks) committed bushwalkers and people of all ages who have a love of the bush – from hour long rambles to several weeks trekking.

The Track is named after a distinct Aboriginal language group known as the Bibbulmun, who inhabited some of the areas on the south coast through which the track passes.

The Track is for walkers only and is signposted with yellow triangular markers symbolising the Waugal, the rainbow serpent of the Aboriginal Dreaming. Trail markers are spaced up to 500m apart. They are more frequent when there is an intersection with other tracks or when the Track takes a turn.
