Business After Hours Showcases Denmark’s Local Flavour
Members of the Denmark Chamber of Commerce were invited to one of the town’s hidden gems at this month’s Business After Hours event, hosted by Denmark Chocolate Company.
A key benefit of the Chamber’s regular networking events is the opportunity for members to visit new venues and learn more about local enterprises. Several guests had never visited Denmark Chocolate Company before and were pleasantly surprised by what they found.
Owners Christine Rumble and Dave Boulton, together with their friendly team, have worked hard to create a memorable experience. Guests sampled handmade chocolates paired with wine, beer, port and liqueurs – an indulgent combination that came highly recommended.
The business is also ideally located as a stopping point for visitors travelling to William Bay National Park, offering another reason to showcase it to friends and family exploring the region.
Alongside developing the chocolate company, Christine and Dave have built a home and two luxury chalets nestled among trees and surrounding farmland. Wine Tree Estate Chalets have become a popular accommodation choice, with advance bookings recommended.
During the evening, Sumer Addy from the Great Southern Development Commission spoke about the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants programme. Sumer, who is managing the grants again this year, explained how she can assist businesses interested in applying for funding.
Local brewer Megan Belcher from Lights Beach Brewing supplied beer for the event, showcasing another successful Denmark enterprise.
The evening concluded with prize presentations. The lucky winners were Bee Pope, representing Denmark Women in Business, and Brett Lukey from Raine & Horne Great Southern.
